Four Environmental Engineering Positions - Ottawa and Vancouver Senior Environmental Engineer

Position:
Reporting to the Divisional Manager, whose role you should be capable of
assuming within a year, assist in leading and supervising a staff of 25+
in the Environmental Engineering Division. You:
A registered professional engineer or geologist with 10 + years of
experience with a diverse background in environmental assessment, site
remediation, environmental risk assessment, hydrogeology, waste
management, and/or field sampling. Experience in hazardous building
materials, environmental auditing, and property development industries
would be an asset. Excellent technical knowledge of BC Waste Management
and Contaminated Sites Regulations along with exceptional organizational
and leadership skills are critical. Exceptional project management and
communication skills complement your
persuasive and scientific bent.
Senior Risk Assessor: Contaminated Land
Compensation: Highly competitive and commensurate with potential
contribution / negotiable.
Position:
Rewarding, Challenging, Fun and will appeal to the Senior Risk Assessor
who is recognized for their ability to provide “expert testimony”.
You:
A results-driven self-starter with
a minimum of 10 years experience in the risk assessment field, you have a
background in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering. Your written
and communication skills complement your innovative and creative thinking,
initiative, and passion for excellence.
Preferably in a consulting environment, you have at least 5+ years
experience and excellent technical skills in ecological risk assessment
and/or human health risk assessment. Expert knowledge of HAZOP, event and
fault tree analyses, source characterization, and dense-gas modeling using

Compensation: Highly competitive and commensurate with potential

Position:
Contribute to the success of our client’s growing hydrogeology practice in
Ottawa,
in the dual areas of contaminated sites and water supply. Manage
all phases of projects - development of work plans and budgets, and mentor
and supervise project staff. Lead business development initiatives that
help grow a strategic client base and be the technical leader in one or
more aspects of hydrogeology.
Proficiency in industry-standard groundwater software applications
including flow / transport models, contouring programs, and
aquifer-testing software is a given.
You:
A graduate degree in hydrogeology or related
discipline (earth sciences or engineering) with a minimum of 5 - 7 years
experience in planning, conducting and managing all aspects of
hydrogeologic projects. Your experience covers most technical areas of
Contaminant Hydrogeology and Groundwater Resources Assessment and you have
a sound working knowledge of and ability to interpret environmental
regulations, guidelines, and standards. Experience in Ontario and Quebec
is most desirable. Your
organizational, communication, and technical writing skills are exceeded
only by your demonstrated leadership and strong business development bent.
Site Remediation Specialist
Position:
You have
the ability to evaluate soil/groundwater impacts at contaminated sites and
design/execute remedial action plans, select appropriate in-site and
ex-site remedial techniques that follow the appropriate provincial and
federal regulatory framework.
Effectively manage and coordinate remedial activities with contractors and
members of a multi-disciplinary team during site restoration. Above all,
you know what it takes to continuously grow a Practice, profitably. You: A P.Eng. or Geoscientist with a minimum of 5 - 10
years experience in site remediation, you have well-rounded technical and
project management skills and have demonstrated that you know how to
exceed clients’ satisfaction often within budgetary and time constraints.
You have an abundance of common sense, are results and process improvement
driven, and renowned for your entrepreneurial bent and being a big picture
thinker who never loses sight of the details.

Export Development Canada’s Environmental Advisory Services team has an opening for an individual who is resourceful and thrives in an exciting team environment. As an intermediate Environmental Advisor you will be responsible for reviewing the environmental and social impacts of international projects supported by EDC. You have 5-8 years experience in a broad range of environmental issues, in a variety of industrial or natural resource sectors..
Requirements:
· Bachelor or Masters degree in an environmentally related discipline. · Knowledge of environmental assessment theory and practice. planning · Familiarity with internationally recognized environmental and social standards, guidelines and good practices (e.g., World Bank standards, etc.). · Spanish or French an asset. · Security clearance -- level to be determined.
